Boys
Work in Progress
I am working on a project about boy’s attitudes as teenagers. I am specifically interested in finding boys from the age of around 12 to 18 to be part of the project.
I will take a series of portraits of each subject in their home environment and/or in a place of their choosing that means something to them, or where they spend a lot of time. Here are a few of the portraits I have completed so far, to give an idea of what I am doing.
I will also ask the boys to complete a short questionnaire ahead of meeting and then have an informal interview with me, asking questions about their attitudes to things like school, work, friends, other boys, girls, role models,
manhood, and their hopes for the future.
For boys under 16 I will need a parental permission release form to be signed, giving me permission to take and use the photographs for the project. I am happy to discuss any aspect of the project with parents who have questions.
It is of course of prime importance that the boys themselves are interested in being part of the project. As a thank you for participation I am offering each person who takes part in the project a large print (A4 or A3 – the choice is theirs) from the portraits that I shoot.
Please contact me if you are willing to take part, know anyone else who might be interested, or have any questions about the project.
